Dear Citizens of Harnett County,

I will be filing for the Office of Sheriff in Harnett County on February 13, 2006 at the Harnett County Board of Elections. My first three years seemingly have flown by; I again thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as your Sheriff.

I considered it my duty and responsibility to accomplish the changes I thought were needed at the Sheriff’s Office in the election of 2002. I have assessed what I then thought were critical areas and feel that we have improved in all categories. The only opinion which truly matters, of course, is your's, the citizens of Harnett County.

I would ask you to compare the Sheriff’s Office today to three years ago under the previous administration. I would suggest comparing the visibility of our Uniform Patrol, victim of crime contact by investigators, crime prevention initiatives, major crime investigations, crime scene technicians and the crime index. I emphasized professionalism and not politics; I have shown to my staff and the public I will deal with people or issues based on information not status or political affiliation.

The following pages of my website will help you in making some comparisons and will document other initiatives and projects we have undertaken. I am extremely proud of the men and women who serve you and I give them much credit for the forward progress we have accomplished in such a short time.

I look forward to the upcoming election year in that my first term can be evaluated by the citizens of Harnett County. I pledge the continued commitment to enhancing Law Enforcement in Harnett County. I ask for your support and most important, YOUR VOTE!
